Transporting visitors into the heart of Iceland’s natural beauty, the Perlan Museum set out to blend science and art to create an immersive adventure. TAIT rose to the occasion, crafting three groundbreaking permanent exhibitions that redefine how the museum engages, educates, and entertains its guests.

In the "Land, Coast, Ocean" exhibit, we used high-resolution video and our patented auto-calibration technology to create a breathtaking virtual underwater world. Shot in the depths of Iceland and accompanied by an ethereal score, this original film puts visitors face-to-face with Iceland’s most fascinating marine life.

For "Forces of Nature," we designed a multi-sensory experience featuring projection mapping, LED lighting, and ambisonics. We utilized specialized equipment to translate low-frequency sounds into physical vibrations, immersing guests in the raw power of volcanoes, earthquakes, geysers, and tectonic plates. The "Áróra”, first-of-its-kind planetarium, features a show that takes the audience on an immersive audio-visual journey into the heart of Iceland, experiencing the country’s legendary landscapes bathed in Nordic lights. A custom-developed 360° camera rig comprising six synchronized cameras captured simultaneous shots, creating a real-time 8K panorama. To complete the storytelling experience, a narrative that fuses scientific discovery–via NASA-derived data–with the myths and legends of the aurora borealis helps to enrich this captivating journey through time and space. The finishing touch is the haunting original score created by celebrated Icelandic musicians.
