Universal Orlando approached TAIT to create a custom media show in the lagoon at Universal Studios for the Universal Orlando Cinematic Celebration – a festival of film devoted to Universal's most beloved movies. It promised viewers the opportunity to see these films in a way they’d never been presented before. Our challenge was to deliver on that promise with a vibrant concept that tested our technical skills.

We constructed a blend of water fountains, surround sound, lighting effects, pyrotechnics, and projection-mapped buildings to create a multi-dimensional experience that wowed the audience. That wasn’t all – to further build the drama of these classic scenes, we employed lasers and film media projected onto water screens to transport park guests into the epic Universal cinematic universe. The final touch was a specially orchestrated score, recorded at Bastyr Chapel in Seattle, WA, which played out as each movie scene unfolded, further building the excitement for this unforgettable film experience.

As the largest nighttime show Universal had ever produced, the Universal Orlando Cinematic Celebration explored the limits of storytelling to create an immersive show that celebrated Universal's rich movie history. Critical acclaim followed, cementing the experience’s position as a must-see attraction. As the largest nighttime show Universal had ever produced, the Universal..." With the success of Cinematic Celebration, Universal Orlando invited us back for 2019’s limited-run Halloween Horror Nights, featuring segments from Classic Monsters, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Stranger Things, and Ghostbusters. We cut them together to play on multiple water screen surfaces and building projections with an 80s-inspired “synthwave vibe”. The show was the highest-rated offering of 2019’s Halloween Horror Nights experiences.
