Rihanna was looking to show up in a way that's never been done before for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. She and her team had a vision for floating platforms rising above the field to elevate her performance. TAIT welcomed the challenge and devised a high-flying solution stable enough to hold the artist, 12 dancers, and an unforgettable show.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance opened with a dramatically framed close up of the artist. The TAIT Navigator Camera System captured the moment and quickly tracked backwards revealing that the artist was standing on a platform high above the field and flanked by dancers on six other floating platforms. This was the shot that captivated worldwide viewers of the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, that People magazine and others called breathtaking.
The platforms for Rihanna’s Super Bowl 2023 performance were intricately rigged for smooth movement, stable enough to support the choreography and performance of the artist and her team. You could see the comfort the well-engineered platforms provided as she glided through the air.

The team behind the halftime show of Super Bowl LVII really wanted to make sure TV audiences could be brought up close and personal, and zoom way out to experience the spectacle at full scale. Sophisticated previsualization empowered the creative team to have pre-planned shot selection that easily translated to TAIT Navigator and connected all the automated elements together, crafting every shot from the opening frame to the firework finish.

After the show ended, the buzz didn’t. TAIT had partnered with Rihanna and her team to do the impossible during the most watched Super Bowl of all time. New standards were set, emotional heights were reached, and we all forgot for a moment that there was a second half of football to play.
