After a five-year hiatus from headline touring, Drake’s It’s All a Blur Tour saw the artist make a triumphant return to the road. The show demanded a stage design as dynamic and multifaceted as the artist himself, so TAIT stepped up to the plate to create an unforgettable experience for his fans.
Our team constructed an in-the-round mainstage from 1m x 1m video decks, which incorporated two video cube lifts and a video-integrated scissor lift and provided two guest VIP risers and the front-of-house risers for this two-legged tour.
The backbone of the gantry system was our new third-generation video track truss design. Two runs of thishis innovative design housed two trolleys which moved an additional truss and trolley with a mounted rotating unit and two Nav Hoists. This setup allowed for a variety of props and scenery to be moved across the arena throughout the show.
The 82-date tour was a triumph for the ages, with support acts including J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and Central Cee. Drake dazzled audiences across the US and Canada with his unique brand of hip-hop, which draws from a broad rangechurch of influences, including dancehall and R&B. The show pushed the boundaries of arena staging and laid the foundations for a stunning display of musical virtuosity, with Drake performing to over 800,000 fans during the tour.
